Sponsorship Opportunities

Dear Prospective Sponsor:

The Society of Petroleum Engineers would like to ask for your company’s patronage of the SPE Improved Oil Recovery Conference in April 2018. With your help, the SPE can continue to provide our industry a conduit of information and cutting-edge technology through involvement in technical conferences and symposia such as the IOR. The petroleum industry, and you as a professional in the industry, can benefit from this in no other way on such a large scale and at such a low cost.

For over 50 years, the Society of Petroleum Engineers Mid-Continent Section in Tulsa, Oklahoma has hosted an international conference and exhibition on improving recovery from oil and gas reservoirs. Once again, we have an outstanding meeting planned for April 2018, covering the newest in upstream technology with leading industry speakers, over 120 cutting-edge technical papers, 50+ technical and equipment exhibits, six short courses, a field trip, and peer networking. The theme for this meeting is “Acceptance, Perseverance, and Disruption Enhance Future IOR.” As an energy or related company with past ties to this event, you have a special opportunity to participate and learn from this international meeting.

In addition to the technical aspect of the conference, various social events will highlight Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a wonderful city and state in which to live, work and host this truly international meeting. These social functions include an awards and recognition luncheon, an all-conference luncheon with a world-class speaker, and a “Beer and Brats” event in the exhibit hall.

With the ongoing challenges in the industry, the IOR Conference must find new ways to balance budget demands while continuing to provide a high-quality conference of which we can all be proud. The proceeds from the Conference are used primarily by the SPE Mid-Continent Section to provide scholarships to undergraduate engineering students.

General meeting sponsorships are available at several levels

The primary industry focus may be on drilling activity and efficiency gains, but sooner rather than later it comes down to increasing recovery—and that’s where IOR 2018 comes in. It’s not a large conference (in good times up to 1,000 or so attendees), but its sole focus is IOR/EOR. Attendees represent:

  • O&G producers—IOCs, NOCs, and independents—both research and operations staff
  • Technology/service providers
  • Academia—recognized research leaders from leading global universities (many leading industry-funded consortia at their institutions), along with graduate students heavily involved in the research work itself

Many IOR conference attendees come from outside North America, with leading global areas being Asia, Europe, and South America. Collectively, these are “movers and shakers” in IOR/EOR. Act quickly to secure your space at the table.

If you have any questions, please go to speior.org or contact Marsha at her phone number or email address as shown above.

Sincerely,

E. Lance Cole
