The Society of Petroleum Engineers
would like to ask for your patronage with the Seventeenth Symposium
on Improved Oil Recovery in April 2010. With your help, the SPE can
continue to provide our industry a conduit of information and cutting
edge technology through involvement in technical conferences and
symposiums such as the IOR. The petroleum industry and you as a
professional in the industry can benefit from this in no other way on
such a large scale and low cost.
For over 40 years the Society of
Petroleum Engineers Mid-Continent Section in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the
U.S. Department of Energy have hosted an international conference and
exhibition on improving recovery from oil and gas reservoirs. Once again
we have an outstanding meeting planned for April 2010 covering the
newest in upstream technology with leading industry speakers, over 100
cutting edge technical papers, 50 technical and equipment exhibits, 10
short courses, field trips and peer networking. The theme for this
meeting is called “Today’s Technology for Tomorrow’s Energy.” As
an energy or related company with past ties to this event, you have a
special opportunity to participate and learn from this international
meeting.
In addition to the technical aspect,
various social events will highlight Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a wonderful
city and state to live, work and host this truly international meeting.
These social functions include a Monday Recognition Luncheon, a
Tuesday Luncheon with a world class speaker, and a Tuesday
Evening Beer and Bratwurst event on April 26 and 27, 2010,
respectively.
With the ongoing changes in the
industry, the IOR meeting must find new ways to balance budget demands
and at the same time continue the high quality meeting in which we can
all be proud. The proceeds from the IOR symposia are used primarily by
the Mid Continent section of the SPE to provide scholarships to
undergraduate engineering students.
General meeting sponsorships are
available at several levels including
Double Platinum - $10,000+
Platinum - $5,000
Gold - $3,000
